2face,MI,Patoranking and more to headline PMANs Oct 1st Lagos Urban Music Festival

The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN and the Lagos State Government have announced plans for an exciting 2015 Independence Day celebration with the coming of ‘Lagos Urban Music Festival’.
Announcing this at a press conference in Lagos, Pretty Okafor, PMAN president said the festival is aimed at celebrating the urban lifestyle of the city of excellence, Lagos State and will be a family-centric show.

Billed to hold at Freedom Park, Lagos, on 1 October to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day, Okafor said the festival will be a whole day affair, while expressed hope that the festival could turn into a yearly one.
Also speaking at the conference, dancehall music star and member of PMAN Exco, Dare Fasasi, popularly known as Baba Dee said the Festival will cater for the old and young music lovers.
“Most of the shows we have in Nigeria are always planned towards the night where we cut out the whole family, but this, it is time for the family to bond while celebrating Nigeria’s Independence. We need to support the good values of our country and also celebrate the entertainment industry,” Baba Dee said. He added that the concert will have three different stages with performances segmented into various genres of music such as Hip-hop, Afro pop, Dancehall and Highlife/Traditional.

Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Dele Balogun of Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board, who represented Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, noted that PMAN remains one of the authoritative entertainment bodies in Nigeria thus the resolve of Lagos State government to associate and partner with it in the festival.
imageimageimageThe Lagos Urban Music Festival will feature some of Nigeria’s finest music stars, including 2face Idibia, Patoranking, Yemi Alade, Sir Shina Peters, M.I, Dammy Krane, Jesse Jagz, Phyno, Terry G, Sunny Neji, Vector, Illbliss, General Pype and Falz.
Another member of PMAN exco and Highlife music star, Sunny Neji, said music lovers should expect a great event and what a proper concert should look like. “People should come out to enjoy themselves and have maximum fun because it is an event to look forward to,” he assured.
